Modular Coldroom Supply and Installation

Cam-lock coldrooms built for flexibility and long term performance

Colsec modular coldrooms are constructed using CFC free, closed-cell polyurethane insulated cam-lock panels that securely lock together to form a rigid structure. This system allows for fast installation on site with minimal disruption, while maintaining strong thermal efficiency and durability.

Because the structure is modular, coldrooms can be extended, reconfigured and even relocated if storage requirements change. This makes them a flexible long-term solution for businesses that need to scale their cold storage capacity over time.

High-quality manufacturing ensures systems are built for long-term commercial use and durability. Many installations remain in service for over 20 years before requiring replacement or upgrade.

We can supply packaged monoblock refrigeration units for smaller modular coldrooms.

For larger installations or where remote refrigeration systems are required, we work closely with refrigeration contractors and HVAC specialists across the UK. We regularly supply coldroom structures directly to refrigeration companies for installation on their client projects, and can either coordinate works or put you in touch with a suitable specialist in your area.

We are coldroom manufacturers and installers rather than refrigeration contractors, but we support both end users and trade refrigeration companies in delivering complete coldroom solutions.

Yes – modular coldrooms can be installed externally and are often used where indoor space is limited.

External installations typically include a weatherproof roof system with options such as corrugated colour sheets or membrane roofing to protect the ceiling panels from the elements, complete with integrated gutters and downpipes to manage water runoff.

Standard white food-safe panel finishes are suitable for external use, although alternative weatherproof finishes and colour-coated systems such as HPS200 Ultra are also available where required.

In most cases, installing a modular coldroom is a straightforward process and only a few key factors need to be considered before installation.

A solid, level base is required for installation to ensure stability and correct operation.
Adequate ventilation must be provided for the refrigeration system where a packaged monoblock unit is used (please refer to our Refrigeration Guidelines for more information).
A suitable power supply must be available at the installation location.
Ambient conditions should also be considered, particularly the surrounding air temperature, as high ambient temperatures can impact performance and may increase the risk of condensation in certain conditions.

Yes — we provide a full coldroom removal and replacement service, including dismantling and safe disposal of existing panels, doors, trims and cappings. We can then install a new modular coldroom to replace the existing installation where required.

We manufacture 80mm and 100mm insulated polyurethane cam-lock panels, typically used for chillers and freezers respectively.

For larger or more specialist coldroom installations, alternative insulated panel systems such as Polyisocyanurate (PIR) can be specified in thicknesses from 80mm up to 200mm, depending on requirements.
